Welcome Back!
Hi. Are you ready? Ready or not, we’ve gotta roll with it! You will see that in tough times just how much you can learn and grow. You guys are all intelligent and you are thinkers with great questions and make wise connections to whatever you are learning. I am looking forward to the rest of the year with you, and I am grateful that we are all still together.
Our first week-Dojo crashed for some people, also, Microsoft Teams increased usage from about 28,000 prior to Covid19, to about 40,000 starting our first week online in quarantine lockdown.
I will contact you via Class Stories in Dojo and you can continue to post in the portfolio section as many of you already have. I have been enjoying those videos and your comment posts. πKeep up the great thoughts. I will also post here to keep a stationary place for posting as some people missed many posts on DOJO. We will incorporate Teams in your portal under the orange 365 icon as some of you have already posted on the Reed’s Readers section of Teams. Great work! We will have a place to chat and try out Zoom video conferencing. It will be like an online classroom discussion. π We are all still learning and developing strategies to grow together during this historical moment in time. I hope that everyone is well and ready to continue the learning process. Below, is an overview of our learning focus and getting into your online books-as you’ve watched many times in class.

Happy Spring Break-“See you” 3/30 on Dojo and Teams!
The district will continue to provide updates. As the new quarter begins after the break, we will begin incorporating Microsoft Teams-also accessed via the portal-Click on the Orange 365. I’d also like to access Zoom or possibly another forum for video conferencing. I look forward to seeing you then, but as far now, enjoy you much needed break. Here’s to rest and restoration.
It’s the last day before spring break! Finishing Staying Nine!
So, now we are at the end-She concedes to have an unbirthday-Really weird, right? I understand her thoughts and that she doesn’t feel ready for TEN, yet-but that’s the key word-YET. We might not like what’s happening in our lives and we might not always feel ready-and some things you just will never be ready. But, you give it your best and maybe even with a little gusto! Lol. I know none of us was ready for a Coronavirus-the world wasn’t ready-how could we be? This is the new normal now. Some people play fair and others just do what they want-we kind of see that even in school, right? Especially during PE. Lol. Well, I hope you enjoy the unbirthday party and taking One Step at a Time... Not the end. Lol
Feel free to post or browse Good Reads!
Staying Nine preview - previously posted on Dojo, but not working?
There’s options to purchase it for about $3 and I even saw an audio version.
I’d have sent home the Facing West book and Charlotte’s Web if I had known. Lols
Reading is relaxing if you put your mind to visualizing the action and dialogue in the story.

Good Morning!
Thank you for thoughts and posts about the novel. I felt that it was a fun way to keep us focused and united as a class. Thank you to all the “waterfall readers.”
Or like I said if we are picturing (visualizing) us all reading together aloud, then Niagara Falls readers!
I am trying to find an avenue where we can continue to post, but most are not using the blog for comments, but rather as a “class portal” which is fine!
Dojo crashed the first day, but those of us who were using our phones made it through. The blog IS GOOGLE! So, I feel that it’s a great resource-and it lets me post many links and things-I’ve had fails on Dojo, but Dojo is easily handled on your phone.
REMEMBER TO USE THE GOOGLE TRANSLATE button/link attached to the blog if needed!
The superintendent had told teachers to keep using their regular resources, so I am. After spring break, they will update us and I will be accessing Microsoft Teams and trying Zoom-I practiced with my nephew!
Keep working on iReady Reading and Math 45 minutes each (45 x 2)
Did you remember that 45x2 is an EXPRESSION in math? π
I sent the Gizmos code and photo on Class Stories - it’s fun for Math and Science! Especially now with measurement!
I know Ms. Smith put some great activities-many of you are artists and will enjoy that!
Coach is reminding you to KEEP ACTIVE! The government, the doctors, and experts ALL are recommending for us to keep active - I went to walk at the bay on Monday and read Staying Nine outside. I made a video, which was a fail-the post failed, Tuesday, I sat on the patio and read. Yesterday, I sat by the window in the booth and read. That video was posted without any retakes - lol So far, today, I am on the sofa. I am changing it up!

I went for another walk in my neighborhood - lots of kids and families out, too-and saw a bright red cardinal - Let’s see if you remember - would that be a dad or mom cardinal?
Ms Smith: visit kidsites.com and pick a picture to create!
Coach: Move 60 minutes daily - all at once, or 30x2!

HAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY!
I hope everyone is well and well behaved as mentioned in my dojo post. Lol. I will be trying out zoom meetings today. I am still learning all of this, too! I suppose that next year, we will need emergency school closures plans in place, which is a good thing-more work, but a good thing.

Scholastic offers 3 free hours of learning!
These resources are usually quite pricey-I’ve accessed them when I’ve been funded by grants or adopt-a-classroom.
